The CVCC, founded in 2001, has a prime directive of encouraging, accommodating, and implementing multiple photographic experiences for our members. Photographers at all levels are welcome. With the overall intent of improving our skills, we believe in sharing information about techniques, equipment, as well as providing mutual support in evaluating our images. In fact, our members share a strong collegiality in the common passion for photography. Ultimately, our goal is to help our members take fine, outstanding photographs.

Members of CVCC can become involved in an interactive process in the following ways:

Meetings/Presentations: Regular meetings on the final Monday of each month at 7:00pm in the Community Room (lower level) of the Deep River Library at 150 Main Street, Deep River, CT. We often have presentations by a variety of photographers covering a wide range of subjects. Some of the past presentations have included wildlife, travel, product, wedding, sports, photojournalism and many other subjects. We also review recent photos by our members as well as discuss events, ideas, and general news.

Workshops: Planned sessions concentrating on technical aspects of photography including lighting, digital workflow, and other subjects.

Photo Shoots: Planned photo shoots at designated locations. We review our photographs at a subsequent meeting.

Individual Members’ Photo Themes: Members are encouraged to undertake personal long-term themes for their photography projects. In turn, the photos can be shared and reviewed with the rest of the club.

Exhibitions: Planned group exhibitions which provide members the opportunity to display their photographs, as well as to share CVCC’s work with the community.

News: Members are regularly informed about CVCC events/meetings, outside club events, exhibitions, photo competitions, new/used equipment, new products, and general opportunities.

Our present membership stands at 39 members. Annual membership dues are $25.
